Steps
This is the initial page displayed upon launching DART-Studio. You can connect the robot and the controller to DART-Studio to monitor their status.
Additionally, it is possible to utilize the DART-Studio simulator to evaluate the robot’s movements, postures, and other functionalities. This guide provides instructions on how to initiate the DART-Studio simulator.
Prior to initiating the simulator, it is necessary to select the robot model.
By clicking the ‘Set Robot Type’ button, the desired robot model to utilize can be selected.
Please review the list carefully and select the appropriate model.
If you select the robot model, the pop-up message shown in the image above will appear.
Please note that this is merely an informational message and does not indicate any issues. Therefore, there is no cause for concern.
When this message appears, simply click "OK." Afterward, please proceed by clicking the ‘Run Simulator’ button.
Clicking the ‘Run Simulator’ button will open this window, and the process will proceed automatically.
Please do not close this window while the simulator is in use. The simulator will cease to function if this window is closed.
The simulator has now been initiated. You can verify this by the presence of the ‘Running’ indicator in the Simulator menu.
By selecting the ‘Disconnect’ button within the Controller Connection menu, the ‘Target’ button will become enabled.
Clicking this button allows you to choose between the controller and the simulator as the target. The default selection is the controller.
To verify the robot’s movement or posture, it is necessary to connect the simulator to DART-Studio.
Please select the simulator as the target and click the ‘Connect’ button.
Upon clicking the ‘Connect’ button, the simulator establishes a connection with DART-Studio.
You may monitor the robot’s status, execute programs within the Task Manager, and perform various other functions.
For further details regarding DART-Studio, please consult the DART-Studio manual.
Caution
- If there is no response or the simulator does not run properly after clicking the 'Run Simulator' button, please uninstall DART-Studio completely from 'Control Panel – Programs and Features', and then reinstall it.
- If the issue persists even after reinstalling DART-Studio, please check whether Python 3.5.2 is installed correctly.
Additional Information
- The simulator introduced above is only available for DART-Studio V2. DART-Studio V3 does not have a simulator.
- Instead, you can install and run Dart-Service, which is a simulator exclusively for V3. By connecting Dart-Service with DART-Studio V3, you can control the robot and check its status.
