The palletizer may drop boxes during transport for several reasons. Review the following to identify and resolve the issue:
1. Environment and Clearance Check
- Verify that boxes are not colliding with any obstacles during transport.
- Ensure all vacuum cups make full contact with the box surface and are not hanging over the edges.
2. System Pressure and Vacuum Preparation
- Confirm system air pressure is set to approximately 80 PSI.
- Inspect vacuum cups for damage or wear and clean them thoroughly.
3. Box Surface Preparation
- Ensure box tops are smooth and free of dust, dirt, or debris to create a proper vacuum seal.
- Check for surface irregularities that may prevent adequate vacuum adhesion.
Additional Steps
- Reduce the Carry Speed and Carry Accel settings in the recipe.
- Confirm the pick point is centered on the box and aligned with the pick tool.
- Check that all vacuum cups are secure and not loose, as this can cause vacuum loss.
- Inspect the screens inside the vacuum cups for clogs.
- Verify the pick point is positioned low enough to press firmly against the box and create a proper seal.
- Check all airline connections on the pick tool for leaks or disconnections.
- If issues persist, consider upgrading to larger vacuum cups and vacuum generators.
- Refer to the System Faults While Carrying a Box article for additional troubleshooting.
